Welcome to the Family: UK and Switzerland to Join Erasmus+ in 2027

The United Kingdom and Switzerland are both set to participate in the Erasmus+ programme as of 1 January 2027, marking a significant milestone in European educational cooperation.

The UK's association places its learners, staff, education institutions and organisations on the same footing as those in EU Member States and other Erasmus+ countries.

Switzerland's participation similarly opens new doors for Swiss students, educators and institutions to engage fully with the programme.

Together, these developments deepen cross-border partnerships, foster cooperation, and create new opportunities for innovative teaching, peer learning and the development of common tools and approaches across a wider European community.

For the HEInnovate community, this is an exciting development: bringing more institutions, more perspectives, and more opportunities for collaboration into the fold.

➡️ Stay tuned as we welcome new communities into the HEInnovate family.
