The Second Education and Innovation Summit “Nurturing Europe’s talents, shaping the future” will be held on 27 June 2023. The hybrid event – held online and in Brussels - will bring together key players working in education and innovation to share best practices, discuss challenges and progress towards objectives in the European Strategy for Universities and the new European innovation Agenda, as well as inspire further actions to be taken!
Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas will be opening the Summit with a keynote speech and the Director-General of DG EAC, Themis Christophidou, will close the event.
There will also be a specific UBC breakout session from 14h-15h30 (CET). During this session, panellists will discuss how to foster links between academia and the private sector. The main discussion points are
- how higher education institutions have developed a portfolio that includes common and new initiatives to match skills offer and demand of the labour market
- how to retain talent in the regions
- how to link education, business creation and innovation
The session will also introduce the revised HEInnovate self-reflection tool (action under the European Strategy for Universities) and the Education and Innovation Practice Community (under the New European Innovation Agenda).
