HEInnovate Webinar – Internationalisation at home practices in European higher education

The next HEInnovate webinar will take place on Thursday, the 14th December at 5pm CET and will discuss the topic of the Internationalisation of higher education in European HEIs. The webinar, in which we hope to see active participation from our audience and hear your practices and questions as well, will be moderated by Rebecca Allinson, Managing Partner at Technopolis Group. Rebecca will be facilitating the discussion with input from our speakers:

  • Dr. Jos Beelen is Professor of Global Learning and co-director of the Centre for Global and Inclusive Learning at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. He is a Visiting Professor at Coventry University and at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. Jos leads a research group that explores internationalisation at home, particularly the skills of lecturers to develop and teach internationalised curricula. Action research is a key method for this research theme. Another research theme is the continuum of internationalisation, from primary to tertiary education. Jos has published a range of articles on the implementation of internationalisation at home, both from educational and organisational and systemic perspectives. Jos is a member of the General Council and a senior trainer for the European Association for International Education (EAIE). From that Association he was the recipient of the 2018 President’s Award for his contribution to internationalisation at home.
  • Loïc Demeester is a doctor in law. After a double master’s degree in Comparative public law between the University of Toulouse Capitole and the University of Costa Rica, he wrote his thesis on “ The relationships between the public and the Administration: comparison France, Spain, European Union”.  Loïc has first experience of Higher Education Institution's international relations as the Secretary General of the European School of Law in charge of the double degrees of the University of Toulouse Capitole. Since September 2022, he took on the position as Head of the International Office. One of his first challenges was to develop Internationalisation at Home at the University Toulouse Capitole.
  • Tanguy Guibert studies international political science at the Institute of Political Science in University Paris Est Créteil. He joined the student movement in France seven years ago while attending nursing school. He advocated primarily for improving the life and studying conditions of students, at the local and national levels by working on improving the quality of internships, access to mobility opportunities and student services. After 2 years as a Board member representing French students, and one year as member of the executive committee, he now serves as Vice-president of ESU (European Students’ Union). Tanguy works on the topic of the European Education Area, Internationalisation and Mobility, Youth, Sustainability and he represents the European Students in UNESCOs SDG4 Youth and Students Network.
