HEInnovate Train the Trainers Programme (fully funded)

We are pleased to announce a new Train the Trainers programme including a two-day training session on 11 – 12 March 2026 in Lisbon to provide information and advice on how to make the most of HEInnovate.  


About the programme 

The Train the Trainers Programme aims to provide information, tools and techniques to maximise the use of HEInnovate.

A total of 30 participants will be selected to: 

  • Get (more) familiar with and deepen understanding of the HEInnovate tool and useful supporting materials, such as action cards;
  • Understand the strategic potential of HEInnovate and develop a strategic view of the implementation of the self-assessment results;
  • Use the HEInnovate tool and resources at their own institution, focusing on strategic goals and leadership;
  • Exchange and learn from peers: compare experiences and good/bad practices
  • Prepare to organise workshops at own institution and further promote the HEInnovate tool. 

The training programme will also offer the possibility of international networking with like-minded people, who are interested in advancing their institution's innovative and entrepreneurial nature. 

The Train the Trainer Programme will be organised as a series of three sessions:

  1. A preparatory online meeting one month before the main one-site session
  2. The on-site two-day workshop in Lisbon on 11-12 March 2026, and,
  3. A follow-up online session three months after the Lisbon meeting

Participants are expected to attend the full cycle of the Train the Trainer programme. 

Participants profile

Professionals working for higher education institutions who are interested in learning how to use HEInnovate in their organisation and with their partners. Prior knowledge of HEInnovate is preferable but not necessary; participants should see the possibility to implement ideas at their institution. 

Priority will be given to candidates who 

The selection process will respect gender, geographical and institutional balance. Owing to the limited number of participants, we can only offer one place per institution in the programme.

It is important to describe how you plan to use HEInnovate at your Higher Education Institution to ensure its long-term use.

There are only 30 available spots.

Practical information

The main on-site workshop will take place on 11-12 March 2026.  The training will start at 12 pm on Wednesday, March 11 to allow participants to arrive on day 1, and finish at 2 pm on Thursday, March 12, to allow participants to travel home on day 2.
