Expert profile

Professor Colette Henry is an academic manager with international teaching and research experience in Entrepreneurship Education, Gender and Entrepreneurship Policy. Her PhD explored the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education and training, and she has published widely in this field. She specialises in new programme design and effectiveness, particularly at the postgraduate level and for industry (MSMEs).  

Colette is currently Head of Department of Business Studies at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT), Ireland; Adjunct Professor, Griffith University, Queensland, Australia; Visiting Professor, Oxford Brookes University, UK, and Visiting Fellow, Centre for Innovation Management Research, Birkbeck, University of London, UK.  Her previous roles include Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway; Norbrook Professor of Business & Enterprise (Royal Veterinary College, London), and President of the Institute for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (ISBE, London). She has published widely in the field of entrepreneurship and is experienced in working with the HEInnovate tool. This experience includes working on several HEInnovate-related EU projects, applying the tool in practice and publishing a paper on how to enhance its use and effectiveness. 

Colette is currently pursuing a second PhD in Crime Fiction with Queen’s University Belfast.
