Bart Derre
Background:

Bart Derre is director of HOGENT E-Lab, the Centre for Entrepreneurship at HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts and holds the Xerius–HOGENT research chair on Entrepreneurial Learning at the department of psychology and educational sciences, Vrije Universiteit Brussel. His academic research focuses on entrepreneurial learning as a pathway to developing an entrepreneurial mindset understood as a dynamic capability that enables entrepreneurial behavior. By integrating insights from educational effectiveness research with design science research, he advances a holistic approach to broad entrepreneurial education.

Alongside his academic work, he has been active as an entrepreneur since 2000, with experience in both the healthcare sector and in supporting organizations in their pursuit of becoming entrepreneurial organizations. As a partner of The BEE, he works closely with organizations to stimulate entrepreneurial leadership in this context. In addition, he is affiliated with Eindhoven University of Technology, where he collaborates with Innovation Space as an external advisor to the scientific director, prof. dr. Isabelle Reymen. He also serves on the boards of two inter-university startup hub initiatives and collaborates internationally with both EU and non-EU universities through several funded Erasmus+ and EIT HEI research projects.
