Dr. Andrea Kottmann is an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente, where she works within the Knowledge, Transformation and Society section (KiTeS) of the Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences and the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS). Her research focuses on institutional change and innovation in higher education, particularly on how universities develop the organisational capacities, structures and networks needed to connect educational innovation with societal needs. 

She has more than 20 years of experience in higher education research, policy analysis, evaluation and international collaboration. Her work has addressed higher education governance, teaching and learning, academic professional development, digital transformation, doctoral education, and the development and evaluation of Centres for Teaching and Learning. She has contributed to national and European projects examining institutional strategies, organisational change and collaboration across higher education systems. She has also participated in research related to HEInnovate that aimed to strengthen its use as a tool for institutional reflection, development and organisational learning. 

Andrea combines research expertise with extensive experience in supporting policy development and institutional reflection. She is particularly experienced in the HEInnovate dimensions of Leadership and Governance, Entrepreneurial Teaching and Learning, Digital Transformation and Capability, and the Impact of the Entrepreneurial HEI.
